It took me a long time to find a program that would link both worlds, tai chi and osteopathy. The phylosophy behind them: Body-Mind-Spirit sent me on a search for a program that could link the two worlds. In spite of this there are many conditions in which practicing tai chi at a normal level could cause more damage than good. Conditions such as Arthritis or Osteoporosis have different requirements which cannot be met by all kind of tai chi styles.

Once I found the Tai Chi for Health programs the phylosophy behind tai chi and the research behind the TCA method encouraged me to take my first workshop with Roberto Crea in Barcelona in srping 2010. Even after having practiced the program on my own with the DVD I didn’t fully understand the potential of the TCA program until I met Roberto. The way the TCA has been addapted from the Tai Chi Sun style is very appropriate for people suffering from Arthritis. The movements have been simplified and addapted so that someone with restricted mobility or even very limited mobility can practice tai chi in a safer and more effective way.

As Dr Lam says, the Tai Chi for Arthritis program is effective. Over ten scientific studies have shown it relieves pain, maintains and improves health and the quality of life. Because of this arthritis organizations, including the Arthritis Foundations in USA and Australia, Arthritis Care of UK, and Osteoporosis Australia, are supporting it.

These studies Dr Lam mentions add to those that will be published in this website in the future showing that tai chi is a very good exercise to improve health, reduce stress, and even help in chronic condidions such as fibromyalgia.
